My photo
I'm so glad you dropped in for a visit, and hope you find something of interest on my blog. If so, I hope you will hit the FOLLOW button, and carry on this journey with me. It's always great to make new friends, and share our ideas and thoughts with each other. There is no telling what I will be getting myself into...just a fair warning...as I enjoy so many things! To name a few: I like drawing, painting, sketching, painting, wood burning, candle making, crocheting, canning, cooking, gardening, natural health, sharing thoughts and ideas, prepping for rainy days, and more. WHEW! I hope you enjoy it! And, I welcome any suggestions from you, as well.
I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a designer (for DecoArt), and a artist (published a few times in magazines). I also have a bachelor's degree in Natural Health Science's. I have so many hobbies and things I dabble in, that I hope you find something of interest!

Stomach Acidity Help

Problems with the stomach are usually due to an imbalanced diet and may be controlled in the long run by becoming in tune with digestibility of the food eaten.

This recipe can be made into a decoction or put into capsule form.  If decoction is made, take 1/2 cup of the "tea" or 2 gel caps every hour as needed, or until your symptoms disappear.

Recipe:
1 part Dandelion Root
1 part Slippery Elms
1/8 part Goldenseal
1/8 part Calamus Root

And, feel better!!

Herbal Remedy to Detox and Rebuild The Liver

This herbal blend is a great one if you have a sluggish liver.
I have been making natural medicines for my family for years now, and they help us so much.  If you haven't done so in the past, you really need to try it.  Natural, full of wholesome goodness, there is so much benefit from our plants (or weeds!) around us.

Recipe:

1 part Oregon Grape Root (also works as a natural antibiotic)
1 part Wild Yam Root (also helps balance hormones)
1 part Dandelion Root, Raw (also works as a natural diuretic)
1/4 Licorice (works as a demulcent)

Simmer herbs  in distilled or natural spring water, place 3 ounces to one quart for 45 minutes.  Remove from heat, then refrigerate.  Take 2 tablespoons 3-4 times daily, between meals.  Do NOT add sweetners.  You may increase the licorice slightly to buffer the taste slightly, or add a small amount of water to your daily dose, if needed.

NOTE:  You can also encapsulate this using root powers, and take 2 caps 3 times a day.

Natural Dog Soap Bars

Pet Soap For Our Little Buddies!

Recipe:
3 oz. Olive Oil (*I infused mine with flaxseed first and oatmeal, which helps with itchy skin)
3 oz. Coconut Oil (76 degree)
3 oz. Palm Oil
2 oz. Rice Bran
1 oz. Castor Oil
4 oz. Water
1.8 oz. Lye
0.17oz. Peppermint Essential Oil
0.17oz. Lemongrass Essential Oil
0.07oz Eucalyptus Essential Oil

(Note: you may use whichever essential oils you deem therapeautic or pleasing.  A few other good choices might be lavender or citronella.  You can also add a bit of glycerine for luster, shine, and softness)

Combine oils, then add lyed water solution to oils, stir til trace.  Put into fun molds, such as those shaped like dogs bones!

This idea came from a YouTube video by Soaping101.  Great stuff there!  I'll be making this one for my pup shown above.

Make Your Own Grapejuice! Nutritious, and Yummy!!

Got Grapes??  I just ran across this great idea that apparently is not new at all, but new to me.  I WILL be trying it, but thought you might like to see it too.  I'd love to hear your thoughts on it too!      Homemade Grape Juice - Easy and Wonderful!

A Few Changes - - Just wanted to let you know about.

Just as times change, we do too.  I have been only keeping thing relative to my artwork here, but that is such a small fraction of what my life really is about.  My life is a busy one, but only at a pace that I allow.  I used to go and go until I felt like falling down, but I guess that age has taught me that what doesn't get done today, will be waiting for me tomorrow.  And if it doesn't get done tomorrow, then it really wasn't that important anyway!  (or something like that)

Anyway, my life includes many aspects that I have never shared
here, until now.  I thought many of you might be interested in sharing some of these things, too.  SO, my future plans for my blog and my website (which I am working on still, and will let you know when it is done) will include a few of the things that I spend my time on at home.  Some of those include:  gardening, canning, prepping (yes, I AM one of those people!), cooking, alternative health, hydroponics, my arts (of course), and much more.

I hope you choose to stay with me, and tell your friends.  I hope that you find something interesting.  And, if there is anything you would like to see my feature, please let me know!  I plan to make this site one that will show what I am doing, ideas I am pondering, and things that I think might interest you.

God bless each of you and your families!! : )

Scrapbooking Anyone??

Tell all your friends that if they are into scrapbooking, I'll be posting designs here on my blog for FREE!

These are elements that I have put together for your enjoyment, and (whenever I can) I will be giving credit to those who made any parts of it.  I will attempt to post one new element per day, so I hope you come back often!  Feel free to copy them and use them in your own Scrapbooking treasures!

And, please, tell all your friends to join us on this blog.  If they have anything they'd like to contribute, like pictures they use them in, I'd love to see them!

Have a great day all!

FIRST FREEBIE:  (Please let me know what you think!!)

Toe Shoes For Giggles and Laughs!

Imagine the looks you will get sporting these!  Such fun to paint, even more fun to wear!  These were done for a custom order, and we are kind of using them as an experiment to see how well the paint will hold up, as there is rubber on the surface.   Rubber can be tricky, as most paints don't want to remain there for long.  SO...that being said, I will try to keep you posted on how long these last!  But, I bet you can imagine how many looks and double-takes these will get! : )

I had a great time painting these...Hope they last!!

TOE SHOES, fun times!

I am currently working on a custom order for a pair of skeletoes shoes, painted to look just like feet.  I think you will like it.  I'll show you the finished product when I'm through!
